Bend Brewfest Celebrates 10 Years and Expands Offerings for 2013

More than 60 breweries and 140 beers waiting to be enjoyed at Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend, Oregon’s Old Mill District; proceeds to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon & Neighbor Impact

May 29, 2013– Bend, Oregon – Bend Brewfest celebrates 10 years of bringing fine brews to the masses at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in the Old Mill District August 15-17. Event organizers expect the largest number of breweries ever, tipping the scales at more than 60 breweries pouring more than 140 delicious craft beers for attendees to sample over the course of the three-day festival. This year’s festival will also feature an expanded selection of hard-to-find, limited-release “X-Tap” beers from participating breweries.

“The Bend Brewfest is a celebration of craft beer. Beer lovers can come down and meet the folks behind the breweries that make their favorite beer, discover new breweries, and sample some pretty amazing beer,” said Marney Smith, director of the Bend Brewfest. “Over the past decade of hosting the event, we’ve seen tremendous growth in the industry. We’re excited to celebrate that growth with more breweries and beers than ever before.”

Migration Brewing Releases Their New 503 IPA

        Migration’s 503 IPA RELEASE
An Assertive IPA With A Touch of Finesse

503 IPA: Migration Brewing is proud to announce the release of our summer IPA, the 503 IPA. After mulling over what to name this complex IPA we decided to give credit to the city that has embraced us so well. The name was decided when recalling how the group of mechanics who owned our building for 30+ years explained that Migration’s geographic location is the dead center of Portland. True or not, we have embraced this story within our business as we open our doors to patrons within all walks of life. The 503 IPA will be released Friday May 17th and will be available all day, a perfect way to start your weekend.

503 IPA
Migration presents this seasonal IPA that will splash your senses with notes of lemon, grapefruit, and tropical nuances. Generously hopped with Ahtunum, Meridian, and Sorachi Ace hops provide a depth of complexity to this assertive yet approachable IPA. It’s an IPA, drink it!

ABV: 7.3%
IBU: 80

Elysian Brewing To Release New Manic Series IPA: Space Dust

Thirteen-odd billion years ago the Universe was born in an enormous explosion that sent absolutely everything hurtling outward--all the stars and planets, Earth, the Moon, the bits that would eventually become you and me and everything we know--and don't know. Come May 1, Space Dust, the latest in the Elysian Manic IPA series, will come drifting across the cosmos to select restaurants, bars and retail establishments. More than the ocean needs the cosmic light of starglow energy, you will love this beer.

Space Dust is an (asteroid) belt of Chinook, Citra and Amarillo hops streaking across a fairly open-space grist of Northwest pale and touches of C-15 and Dextri-Pils malts. 70 IBU will deliver a good (VanAllen) belt of bitterness; 7.2% alcohol by volume keeps thrust at a medium burn; OG 16.8°P/1.068 SG if you're a Mission Control type. Space Dust will be available on draft and in 22-ounce bottles, with a cute little extra-terrestrial hop feller on the label.
